[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind

Chapter 115 The Uninvited Guest

"Sorry, I have to leave for a while—I have some things to attend to." After breakfast, Tom said to Eleanor, who was washing the dishes.

"Leaving so soon?" Eleanor was surprised, "I know, but come back before dinner, okay?"

"I'll try," Tom said lightly, and he hastily planted a light kiss on her lips, "See you tonight then."

But when he came in the evening Tom didn't come back, and he didn't show up again until the stew was completely cool.

Eleanor was very worried if something happened to him, but she didn't know how to contact him at all.She stared intently at the untouched sumptuous dinner on the table, but she had no appetite at all.

Finally, she unknowingly fell asleep on the table.

In the middle of the night, Eleanor was suddenly awakened by a noise. She opened her eyes in a daze, and saw a figure walking into the living room.

"Tom?" she said hoarsely, rubbing her eyes. "Why are you so late?"

"Unfortunately, I'm not Tom." A strange man's voice said, with a hint of cold hostility in his voice.

Eleanor was taken aback. She stood up abruptly from her chair and asked, "Who are you?"

"Tom's friend," the man answered hoarsely, striding out of the shadows.

Eleanor saw the man's face clearly.

It was a tall, thin man with a face as pale as death. In the sunken eye sockets, a pair of cloudy gray eyes were staring at her firmly, which made Eleanor couldn't help taking a step back. She could clearly feel the other's malice—he could never be Tom's friend, she said to herself.

"Look what I've found," he said with a sneer, narrowing his eyes. "What a great discovery! He's hiding a delicate young girl."

Eleanor said nothing, watching his every move vigilantly.

"It seems that he cares about you very much, because it took me a lot of work to find this place." The man said with a sneer, "The protection charm he put on this house is no less than the Gringotts vault-I thought I What treasures will be found here?"

Eleanor forced her tone to remain calm, "What do you want?"

"Oh, don't worry, honey—I haven't figured it out yet." He looked Eleanor up and down, as if weighing the value of a prey, "maybe we can talk first. Tell me, are you Who is he?"

"I don't need to tell you." Eleanor said, slowly backing away nervously.

"Really?" The man suddenly let out a sneer from his throat, and at the same time took a step towards Eleanor, "But I think I have already guessed the answer."

Immediately afterwards, he rushed over with a stride, and before Eleanor even had time to react, he grabbed her throat tightly.

Eleanor slammed her back against the closet behind her.Dishes fell from the closet and smashed to pieces on the floor.

"In my opinion, you should be his little lover?" He grinned and said hoarsely, "It seems that you probably don't know anything."

Eleanor was trembling all over, and stared at him resentfully, "I don't know what?"

"The man clicked his tongue and sneered, "What a poor girl. "

He leaned close to Eleanor's ear and breathed on her face deliberately: "Don't you wonder what my dear Tom is up to every day? If you beg me...maybe I will tell you You have some things, tsk tsk, poor baby, those things will give you nightmares."

A sickening taste of blood came from his mouth, and Eleanor felt sick to her stomach.

"Let go of me!" she yelled, holding back her breath.

The hand that strangled her throat intensified, and the severe pain and difficulty in breathing made her almost faint.

The man sniffed around her neck like a beast.During the struggle, Eleanor clearly saw sharp canine teeth showing from his lips.

"Just to taste...he shouldn't be angry." He panted heavily. The stench of breath sprayed on Eleanor's face continuously.

As soon as his words fell, Eleanor felt a sharp pain in her neck.

"No—let me go!" screamed Eleanor.

At this moment, a blue flame suddenly shot out from around Eleanor's waist.

The piercingly cold flame made the man let out a scream. He let go of Eleanor and stumbled back a few steps.

Panting, Eleanor pointed her wand at him—at the very last moment, she reached for it from a closet drawer.

She was secretly glad she hadn't locked her wand into the case.

She stared coldly at the man writhing on the ground in agony from the freezing flames.

"Tell me, who are you?" She said with a slightly trembling voice, with a look of disgust on her face, "Or, what are you?"

But he didn't answer, but remained motionless after a few twitches, as if the effect of the freezing flames had made him unconscious.

Eleanor found a bundle of ropes from the basement and tied the man firmly to the chair.

After this incident, she had no sleep at all.She sat on the couch aimlessly trying various spells. But just like her previous attempts, she still couldn't use the most basic spells.

But she can use high-level spells like Freezing Fire—just like when she was a ghost.

She sat on the sofa staring at the man tied to the chair, thinking about how to deal with him.Eventually, she started dozing off, so she had to go to the kitchen and make a cup of coffee to try to stay awake.

When she returned to the living room with her coffee, she was surprised to find that Tom had returned.

He was standing in the living room with his back to Eleanor, as if observing the man tied to the chair.

"Tom!" Eleanor exclaimed in surprise.

"What the hell happened?" Tom asked, turning around, frowning.

Eleanor sat down and briefly described what happened.

"Do you know him, Tom?" she asked finally. "What the hell is he?" She went and pointed to Tom the man's unretracted fangs. "...see those teeth? Not human teeth."

"I think you should have guessed the answer." Tom stared at the man with a gloomy expression. "Aren't your Defense Against the Dark Arts scores very good?"

Eleanor opened her eyes slightly, and murmured, "He can't really be a vampire... I thought it was something that only existed in legends."

Tom didn't answer her, but stared at the vampire in silence.

Soon, he untied the vampire from the chair, and then conjured a magic rope to bind him firmly again.

"What are you going to do?" said Eleanor, staring at him.

"I'll find a way to deal with it." Tom replied lightly, "Don't worry, he won't come to trouble you again."

"He said he knew you," said Eleanor suddenly, "and he said he was your friend."

Tom stopped, turned his head and raised his eyebrows to glance at Eleanor, "Did he really say that?"

"Yes."

"That's really strange," he said quietly. "I don't remember having a friend like that."

After he finished speaking, he cast a floating spell on the vampire, making his body float in mid-air.

"Where are you taking him?" Eleanor couldn't help but ask.

"Go to the Ministry of Magic—don't worry, the Ministry of Magic will take care of this sooner than you can imagine," Tom told her. Mercy and soft hands."

Subsequently, Tom left with the unconscious vampire.

For nearly a month, Eleanor seldom saw Tom.He would only show up on weekends, often leaving in a hurry after a dinner.

She couldn't help but wonder what he was up to.

Tom was obviously busy with other things besides after class, and he couldn't even rest on weekends.

And when Eleanor asked, Tom replied that he was doing an acquaintance a favor.

"Before I taught at Hogwarts, I worked in his shop." Tom explained, "I would help him with some customer orders on weekends. Of course, he paid me very well, even asking More than my salary at Hogwarts."

"But you don't need that much money, do you?" said Eleanor, a little surprised. As far as she knew, the salaries of the Hogwarts staff were actually quite impressive.

"Of course I need it." Tom suddenly raised the corner of his mouth, showing a slight smile, "You will understand."

It was another Saturday evening, and Eleanor was trimming bushes in the garden.

She straightened up, wiped the sweat off her face, and suddenly felt that she was hugged from behind.

The familiar aura made her immediately understand who it was.So she said, without looking back, smiling, "Look, Tom—I've done a good job of the garden, and it's looking much better now."

"You don't need to do that," said Tom softly, "because we're moving out of here soon."

Eleanor turned around in surprise, "What does that mean?"

Tom raised the corner of his mouth slightly, showing a slightly mysterious smile, "Let's go in and talk about it first."

After he finished speaking, he let go of Eleanor and strode towards the house.Eleanor quickly followed him, and couldn't help saying, "Actually, I quite like this place."

"But it's not safe here," Tom answered succinctly.

"But who will harm me? Didn't you say that the incident last time was just an accident." Eleanor said with a frown.Immediately, she reached out and grabbed his arm, and asked worriedly: "Tom, tell me—what are you hiding from me?"

Tom stopped on the porch, turned and watched Eleanor silently.

"What's wrong?" Eleanor looked at him with some confusion.

"I would have liked to have found a better opportunity to tell you," he said softly, deadpan.

Eleanor felt her heart skip a beat, "What?"

The worst was already in her mind—she had a vague sense that maybe Tom was in some kind of danger.

At this moment, Tom suddenly took something out of his coat pocket.

Eleanor frowned and looked at the thing in his hand - a small dark green box. What is that?

Then she saw Tom's slender fingers open the box, revealing its contents.

- An obsidian ring.

Eleanor stared at the ring in a little surprise. It looks intact, not even a tiny crack can be seen.

"The Resurrection Stone Ring," she murmured. "It's so nostalgic."

Then, something even more shocking happened to her.

Tom gently cupped one of her wrists and kissed the back of her hand lightly. The black hair brushed gently on the back of her hand, and she couldn't help shivering slightly because of the itching.

"Tom, you..."

But Tom cut her off.

He gazed calmly into her eyes through the drooping hair, and then said that sentence.

"Will you marry me, Miss Alford?"
