Chapter 112 Marauder's Map (5)
Snape went out, and he left her alone in the office without a word of explanation.Jane sat on the chair, remembering what Malfoy said just now outside the office door, she began to secretly worry about Harry. She couldn't understand how Harry could be so careless and expose himself in front of Malfoy, and even pop his head out of the Invisibility Cloak. She knew that Snape would not make it easy for Harry, he cared about Harry very much, so he hated Harry for violating school rules.Especially now that Black might be trying to kill him.
"I should have stopped him." Jane muttered in a low voice.
She closed the textbook with her and left the office. On the way back, she met Hermione who came trotting.
"You're back?" Jane said, looking at Hermione in surprise.
Hermione looked like she was about to cry. She held a letter in her hand and said in a hoarse voice, "This is a letter from Hagrid. He told me that I lost the lawsuit. Buckbeak will be executed. gone."
"What?" Jane's eyes widened in surprise: "They can't do this! We gave Hagrid enough evidence to prove that Barcobeak is innocent."
"Oh, no, no, they won't listen." Hermione shook her head, looking terribly vulnerable.
Jane gritted her teeth and took Hermione's hand: "Let's go find Harry."
Saying that, Jane took Hermione and ran towards the cellar, but they met Ron and Harry on the way halfway.
As soon as Ron saw Hermione, he said angrily, "Are you here to gloat? Or did you just inform us?"
Jane waited for Ron to glance, and she handed the letter in her hand to Harry: "Hagrid just wrote a letter, I think you should read this."
Harry opened the crumpled letter, his self inside was blurred by Hagrid's tears, but he could still see clearly——
Dear Jane and Hermione:
we lose. They allowed me to take it back to Hogwarts.A date for the execution is yet to be determined.Buckbeak liked London.I will never forget all the help you have given us.
Hagrid
"They can't do it, they can't. Buckbeak isn't dangerous," said Harry angrily.
"Malfoy's dad threatened the committee to do this," Hermione choked up, wiping tears from her eyes: "You know him. The committee is a bunch of old, trembling fools, Horrified. Could still appeal though, which is always possible. I just don't see any hope... Nothing will change."
"No. It will change." Ron said furiously, at this time he had completely forgotten that he and Hermione were still in the cold war: "This time you don't have to do all the work alone, Hermione, Jane. I will help."
"Oh, Ron!" Hermione threw her arms around Ron's neck, completely devastated.
Ron, horrified, patted her on the top of the head in embarrassment to comfort her.
Jane raised her eyebrows, and suddenly felt that the letter was not as bad as she imagined—at least it made the two guys reconcile.
Hermione let go of her hand, and she decided not to continue arguing with Ron: "Ron, I'm really, really sorry about Scabbers..."
Facing Hermione's sudden apology, Ron obviously began to feel embarrassed, and he suddenly realized that he didn't have to get Hermione's apology as he thought: "Oh - um - it's old, and it Kind of useless. You don't know, now maybe Mom and Dad will get me an owl."
Ron and Hermione had finally reconciled, much to the relief of both Jane and Harry. It's just one other thing they're all starting to worry about, and that's Barcobeak's verdict.
They went to Hagrid the next day, but Hagrid told them that there was no hope and they could not appeal. But Harry and Ron didn't seem to intend to give up on this. Ron began to pay attention to this matter. He looked up various materials as carefully as Hermione, and occasionally they would exchange opinions.
As Easter approached, Harry was busy with his Quidditch match again. This time it is Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. If they can win this battle, then Gryffindor will be able to win this year's Quidditch Cup.
During this time, Jane didn't go to the cellar to worry about Barcobeak, because Hermione was overwhelmed by her homework, and Jane had to accept that.So on Easter Eve, Hermione was busy with schoolwork, Harry was busy with training, and she and Ron were busy digging through materials.
On the day of the Quidditch match, Jane went to the Quidditch pitch with Hermione and Ron.Unsurprisingly, Harry's firepower allowed him to dominate the competition and show off his talents.
Gryffindor won the game, the most exciting news in a while.
After the game was over, Jane asked Harry privately about the Marauder's Map.Harry told her that the map had been confiscated by Professor Lupine, and Jane was not very relieved by this.
"Maybe Black also knows the passages on the Marauder's Map." Jane said to Harry: "Otherwise, why can he always come and go without a trace, only these secret passages can do it."
"But the exit of the secret passage is in Hogsmeade village, if he shows up there he will be arrested." Harry said.
Jane thought for a moment: "Maybe he has a way to pretend."
As for what kind of camouflage they had, none of them knew, but since the map was already in Lupine's place, Jane didn't intend to continue asking about it.
By June, Hedwig flew into the Gryffindor common room with a note clutched in her mouth.Hermione was looking at her exam timetable at that time, and Ron was surprised at the time of Hermione's exams, because he found that many of Hermione's exams were taken at the same time.
Harry tore the note open: "It's from Hagrid." He took a quick look and said, "Buckbeak's appeal is due on the sixth."
"That was the day our exams ended," said Hermione, who was now covering the desk looking for her Arithmancy book.
"Where is the appeal?" Jane asked.
"They're here for an appeal," Harry replied, his eyes still on the note: "Someone from the Ministry of Magic and - an executioner."
"They brought the executioner to hear the appeal!" Jane thought this was ridiculous.
Hermione looked up and said in panic, "It sounds like they've already decided!"
"Yes, that's right," said Harry slowly.
"They can't do that!" growled Ron. "I've spent so much time reading for him, they can't ignore it all! And Jane - we've read almost every book in the library!"
"I should have stopped him." Jane muttered in a low voice.
She closed the textbook with her and left the office. On the way back, she met Hermione who came trotting.
