#157 - ambush
“Enough with the small talk.” Yang Le crossed his arms in front of his chest, and after a flash of white light, Diamondhead was back.
“Let’s begin.”
The burly Diamondhead walked out of the forest, swaggering towards the academy in the distance, not even trying to hide himself.
After all, in front of the Xavier Institute's main building, there was an open lawn with no cover, and it would be almost impossible for Yang Le to sneak in without relying on some special alien hero.
Since that was the case, he might as well be bold and straightforward. No matter who was inside, the worst that could happen was a fight, and Yang Le, who had transformed into Diamondhead, wasn't afraid of fighting.
Diamondhead could be said to be the most versatile fusion hero in Yang Le's arsenal. He perfectly inherited all the advantages of Diamond and Crystal, and he wasn't afraid of the zombie virus infection.
This was also Yang Le's confidence in paving the way alone. As long as he didn't encounter any overpowered characters in the Marvel universe, Diamondhead could contend with them.
Yang Le quickly arrived at the gate of the teaching building. There wasn't much dust on the gate, and the ivy climbing all over the walls wasn't attached to it, indicating that people often came in and out of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
He put his hand on the gate and pushed it open with force. With a creak, everything about this legendary academy was finally revealed to Yang Le.
How should he put it? Yang Le originally thought that he would see a building full of history, just like its castle-like appearance, but as soon as he opened the gate, Yang Le's expectations were completely shattered.
Yang Le had already expected the mess all over the ground.
The walls were covered with dense writing, rotten furniture and floors, various furnishings scattered all over the place, and even mold was sparsely distributed on the walls. The smell must be very pungent.
Fortunately, Yang Le had now become Diamondhead, so he didn't need to breathe and couldn't smell these odors, otherwise he would definitely be choked and sneeze.
“Achoo! Achoo!”
Sure enough, Peter and the others, who were carbon-based life forms following behind Yang Le, couldn't help but sneeze one after another, and stopped sneezing after they got used to it.
“Hiss~” The Craftsman rubbed his nose.
“God, smelling this smell, I even miss Scott's cologne.”
As the protagonist being talked about, Scott's head was right on the Craftsman's gun, but he was obviously unable to reply now.
Maybe this topic was too bizarre, and no one responded, just silently walking inside. Seeing this, the Craftsman shrugged and followed the crowd.
As the vanguard, Yang Le walked a few steps inside and suddenly stopped, his eyes fixed on the front.
Peter, who was behind him, couldn't help but feel curious when he saw Yang Le suddenly stop, but Diamondhead's reminder was too strong, he moved to the side, bypassed Yang Le, and looked inside.
In the deep corridor, the walls were covered not only with mold, but also with dense writing. The content above made people feel uneasy. Peter recognized at a glance that these words were left by Death Skull.
That was a new identity that emerged after the zombie crisis. It was a traitor who specialized in capturing and raising humans for zombies to eat, in order to save his own life. They were the despicable people that Peter and the others hated and despised the most.
However, these spooky words were obviously not enough to attract Yang Le's attention and make him stop. Peter followed Yang Le's line of sight and saw only one person standing at the end of the corridor.
The red and blue uniform and the short black hair all showed the identity of the person.
“Vulcan!” Peter's pupils shrank, and the other party's name blurted out, even the tone was a little distorted.
“The Emperor of the Shi'ar Empire.” Yang Le said in a deep voice.
“I didn’t expect you to become one of the walking dead.”
“I’m just devoted to the great, endless hunger, and become a part of them.”
Vulcan said in a hoarse voice, his once handsome face was now full of holes.
“Is this your territory?” Yang Le slowly turned one hand into a blade.
“It seems that your territory has shrunk so badly that you can only live in this small corner.”
“I don’t like this place, it was originally Beast’s territory.”
A few strands of energy flowed out of the corners of Vulcan's eyes, like orange-yellow ribbons floating in the air.
“I’m just using this place to wait for the rabbit.”
“Waiting for me?”
“Probably.”
As soon as Vulcan finished speaking, Yang Le had already rushed in front of him, from bottom to top, trying to behead Vulcan with one knife.
Vulcan's expression remained unchanged, as if he didn't care about this fatal blow. The other party's raised嘴角made Yang Le feel a little uneasy.
“Boom!”
With a loud noise, the wall on Yang Le's right exploded, and a strong figure with a cockscomb head and wearing a red uniform smashed through the wall, hugged Yang Le, and crashed out of the teaching building.
Before Yang Le could see who it was, he was punched away by that person and flew backwards into the forest, setting off a piece of turf.
Yang Le inserted his arm into the soil and plowed hundreds of meters away before stopping.
As soon as Yang Le raised his head, the blurry red figure attacked him again with overwhelming power.
Without time to think, his right hand turned into a hammer, and Yang Le hurriedly faced the difficulties and chose to fight head-on with the opposite side.
“Clang!”
Like a clash of metal and iron, the other party's body could actually compete with Diamondhead's body!
No!
“Crack.”
With a crisp sound, Yang Le frowned. Although he withstood the opponent's attack, Diamondhead's right arm actually cracked!
However, thanks to this confrontation, Yang Le was able to see the other party's true face.
Gladiator, the former captain of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, one of the strongest in the Marvel Universe, and also one of Marvel's “Superman”.
Gladiator grinned, raised his left fist, and prepared to give Yang Le another head-on blow.
Yang Le's pupils shrank, he must not let the other party get his wish. He retracted his right hand that was fighting against Gladiator, opened his chest, and a stream of crystals quickly涌出from it, attacking Gladiator in mid-air.
Gladiator waved his fist to try to shatter the crystals, but he didn't expect the crystals to grow so fast that they squeezed him out.
Yang Le breathed a sigh of relief. It was obviously not a wise move to fight Gladiator in close combat.
However, when fortune never comes in pairs, misfortunes never come alone. Vulcan, who had been temporarily forgotten by Yang Le, launched an attack again.
A beam of orange-yellow light attacked Yang Le. Yang Le glanced at the attacking Vulcan from the corner of his eye, thinking that this was exactly what he wanted.
Diamondhead has the ability to absorb energy, and this energy can just enhance him and use it to deal with Gladiator.
Just when Yang Le was about to receive Vulcan's gift, another extremely fast figure flew to his side.
Yellow cloak, black tights, the person is.
Hyperion.
