#409 - kiss
Hearing this, Diana stood up with a whoosh, the immense shock of the news making her forget she was sitting on a bed. Standing up at her height of one meter eighty-three, she was destined to hit the roof of the car.
Fortunately, the little broken car reacted quickly, growing taller to prevent the rash demigoddess from potentially punching a hole through it.
"This must be Circe's conspiracy," Diana regained her vigor, and Yang Le even wondered if he had imagined her self-pitying state from the previous moment.
"Clatter."
Diana jumped barefoot from the bed, landing on the wooden floor with a crisp sound. She was still wearing the prisoner's uniform from months ago. Due to her demigod physique, Diana would be fine even without food or drink, so she had been lying on the bed for months without moving.
Yang Le had even written an observation report during his free time about "Whether Demigods Get Hemorrhoids," but since Diana didn't need to eat and therefore didn't excrete, the report hadn't made any progress.
"I must return to Themyscira immediately. I must stop this conspiracy," Diana said, reaching to open the car door. However, after opening the door, she saw Yang Le blocking her path.
"You're planning to save Themyscira in a prisoner's uniform?" Yang Le sized Diana up. "That's no different from suicide."
"I have to do this, Yang Le," Diana said resolutely. "I can't stand by and watch Themyscira and humanity go to war. Many metahumans will inevitably join in, and I can't bear to see my sisters die."
"I'm sorry, but no one can stop me in this matter, not even… you."
"I'm not trying to stop you," Yang Le looked at Diana, who was resolute but also a bit shaken, and couldn't help but find it amusing. "I strongly support your actions to save everyone. It's a noble act, and a major reason why you can become Wonder Woman."
Diana asked, "Then… what do you mean?"
"I mean you need suitable weapons and fitting armor," Yang Le stepped aside, and Diana saw the scene behind him. There stood a furnace of unknown origin, glowing with a faint red light, as if the flames had just died out.
Around the furnace were various forging tools, and next to them was an armor stand, displaying a suit of armor composed of gold, red, and blue, the same color scheme as her previous battle suit, but with much less exposed area.
"I forged this armor from the chains and shackles in the dungeon," Yang Le began to explain. "These metals are truly amazing. With some effort, you can change their texture."
Diana walked quickly to the armor, reaching out to stroke the exquisite piece. She discovered that it was as soft and smooth as silk, yet she couldn't destroy it even by tearing at it with all her strength.
"Remember, even a demigod can't destroy it?" Yang Le said with a smile. "I also added some other things to it. Now, even missiles hitting you will feel like a tickle. To make you feel pain, it would have to be an attack on the level of Superman."
Diana loved it and took the armor off the stand, looking eager to put it on. Yang Le stopped her again.
"Don't rush. With armor, you also need weapons. Those thick iron chains can make more than just this." As he spoke, Yang Le flipped his wrist and pulled out a sword and a shield from who knows where.
The style of the sword wasn't much different from what she had used before, but the shield was somewhat different. Her previous shield usually had her own symbol engraved on the front, but this shield had a symbol that looked like an hourglass. This symbol was the Omnitrix symbol, a bit of Yang Le's personal touch.
Faced with Yang Le, who was pulling out so many props like Doraemon, Diana didn't know what to say. Before she could think of any words of gratitude, Yang Le pushed her towards the little broken car, urging her to change into the equipment.
A few minutes later, Diana, having changed into the equipment, walked out of the little broken car. Yang Le couldn't help but nod. The valiant Valkyrie had returned once more.
"Go quickly, your compatriots are waiting for you."
Diana looked at Yang Le with a complex expression, then strode towards him. Just as Yang Le was wondering what she was going to do, Diana was already close to him.
The speed of a demigod was indeed astonishing. Before Yang Le could react, Diana's hands had already cupped his big head, and then she kissed him on the lips.
"Huh?" Yang Le's eyes widened. This was far beyond his expectations. By the time he came to his senses, Diana had already separated from him.
"The rest will have to wait until I return," Diana affectionately caressed Yang Le's cheek, and then flew away without looking back, like an ancient general going to war, while Yang Le was like a doting wife waiting for her husband's return.
The kiss came too suddenly and too briefly. Yang Le felt like Zhu Bajie eating a ginseng fruit, unable to savor anything. By the time he wanted to reminisce, he didn't know how to.
"It's okay, there's still the rest," Yang Le cheered himself up and smacked his lips. It seemed that even if a demigod didn't brush her teeth for months, she wouldn't have bad breath.
After pondering for a while, Yang Le looked at the Omnitrix on his left hand. The appearance of the little broken watch could be said to have changed drastically. If it was originally a high-tech electronic watch, it was now a mechanical watch full of metallic texture.
This was because Yang Le had used the high-purity N metal he had refined over the past few months on it. In these months, Yang Le had not only made equipment for Diana, but also made his own.
The high-purity N metal not only became the protective shell of the little broken watch, but also brought many benefits to Yang Le as the wearer, one of which was an almost endless lifespan, along with physical enhancement, flight, and some other small additions.
Yang Le also used magic to connect it to the pocket universe of the Evil Burst Frog, turning it into something like a storage ring. Diana's sword and shield had been stored inside it all along.
Looking at his invention with satisfaction, Yang Le knew that now was not the time to indulge in his own cleverness. Although Diana told him to wait, he obviously couldn't stand here obediently like a gazing-at-the-wife stone.
Leaving aside Circe, the elusive Witch Child was the top priority. Yang Le didn't believe that this guy would allow others to stop the great chaos he had been looking forward to for months.
