This Hogwarts isn't normal.

#985 - Humanoid Library

A large group of people trying to sneak past to see the dragons without being discovered was clearly an extremely difficult task.

The success rate would be higher under the cover of night, and since the journey was somewhat far, they could simply walk slowly as if taking an after-dinner stroll.

"Ronnie, my little darling, the spider's nest is just ahead. Aren't you especially scared right now?"

Ron instinctively shivered, then glared angrily at the twins beside him. "I told you, I just can't stand those furry, creepy things!"

His shout didn't exactly make him seem unafraid.

"Alright," Fred shrugged. "We'll find out soon enough if you're really scared or not."

George grinned widely. "Ronnie, my little darling, if you get scared, remember to shout for help, and we'll come running at once!"

"Get away from me!" Ron glared back. "I don't need you to rescue me!"

The twins pretended to be frightened and ran off.

Ron forced himself to appear calm as he followed the group, but his occasional wary glances around revealed his true feelings.

"Rustle, rustle—" The sound of wind blowing through the leaves and footsteps crunching on fallen leaves filled the air.

Gradually, Ron began to relax and chatted with Harry about the dragons they were about to see.

Vincent, who was at the front, was introducing the Delacour sisters to the strange plants they encountered along the way.

The Scottish Highlands had a pleasant climate, with neither severe cold nor extreme heat, but the weather was somewhat unpredictable; it might suddenly pour rain at any moment.

The ecological environment of the Hogwarts Forbidden Forest was naturally excellent, encompassing most of the common European plants, and even a few rare ice herbs and ghost orchids.

With such a good environment, the magical creatures living here also thrived.

Erklings, Augureys, Mortrats, Grindylows, and Knarls were noticeably larger than those outside, and they were all particularly enthusiastic towards Vincent and Hermione; even the shy Diricaws rubbed their heads against their necks.

This scene amazed the Delacour sisters, until Vincent instinctively pulled out a bag of cookies.

Fleur recalled the magical creatures she had just seen and realized that the way to befriend them was actually quite simple.

In their eyes, Vincent, who could produce all kinds of delicious snacks, was an omnipotent god, but to reach his level, weekends alone were clearly not enough.

"Wayne, do you often come here?"

"Less now; I used to come almost every night last school year."

Fleur's mouth twitched unnaturally. "Breaking into the Forbidden Forest at night—that doesn't sound like something a model student would do."

"Relax." Vincent turned to her and waved the bag of cookies in his hand. "This isn't Beauxbatons; would you and Gabrielle like to experience the unique charm of Hogwarts?"

Gabrielle's eyes lit up. "Really? I heard Diricaws are especially shy; they only come out of their caves on moonlit nights."

Vincent gently stroked the Diricaw's smooth head. "Actually, they're very eager to make new friends. You know crop circles, right? They're signals they send to the outside world."

Not many people, even wizards, knew this little-known fact.

He knew it because Hermione always loved reading last school year and had read almost all the books in the school library.

Vincent watched Gabrielle and the Diricaw's tentative interaction and thought of a certain night last year.

He had acted the same way that night; after listening to Hermione's detailed explanation, he even gave her the nickname "Human Library."

She wasn't in a good mood at the time, so Vincent didn't say the nickname again.

He looked at Hermione, who was still feeding the Diricaw, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curve up slightly.

Hermione felt his gaze and looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Did you think of something happy?"

"Yes." Vincent's smile became a bit playful. "Human Library, I've been introducing them for so long; it's your turn now."

Hermione visibly breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay, leave it to me."

Vincent was taken aback. "Uh… you're not angry?"

She looked puzzled again. "Why should I be angry?"

"Didn't I just call you Human Library? Didn't you hear?"

The Diricaw rubbed its smooth head against Hermione's small hand; she fed it a few cookies and looked back at him.

"I heard it. The past is the past, and now is now. You can call me whatever you want, just don't go too far."

Before, they were friends; now, they were a couple, so her attitude would naturally change.

After this little interlude, everyone set off towards the dragons again.

Vincent and Hermione walked hand in hand at the front, Cedric and Cho held hands in the middle, making the singles behind them suffer.

As the last sliver of light on the horizon quietly disappeared, the sky finally gradually darkened.

Everyone quickened their pace and successfully arrived at the dragons' location as night fell.

From a distance, they could feel the heat in the air.

It seemed the dragons hadn't been idle much in the afternoon; their drug resistance was indeed very strong.

Vincent picked up his alder wand, pointed it at the leaves on the ground, cast a silencing charm, and led everyone closer little by little.

Under the distant lamplight, four enormous creatures first came into view.

Next was Charlie's conspicuous red hair; he was sitting on the ground in front of the fire, cooking dinner for his colleagues.

The remaining dragon keepers were guarding the four dragons; compared to the afternoon, they all looked a bit disheveled.

"Dinner's ready! Everyone, come and eat in shifts!"

While the dragon keepers were eating dinner in batches, Vincent and the others sneaked nearby in the dark.

The dragons were all restrained and lying on the ground; just observing their heavy breathing up close was shocking enough.

Especially the largest Hungarian Horntail; its breathing even drowned out the dragon keepers' conversation.

Fleur peeked out from behind Vincent. "By Merlin, don't let me encounter it."

Harry hid behind Sirius, feeling the same way in his heart.

Such a large dragon; even Krum, as a professional Quidditch player, probably couldn't handle it.

Vincent stroked his chin, sizing up the Hungarian Horntail not far away.

Charlie's physical fitness was no worse than a top Quidditch player, and the other dragon keepers shouldn't be much worse either; such a lineup seemed a bit strained to suppress it, and there was no way the champions could handle it alone.

So, the current champion training plan needed to be adjusted accordingly; setting the imaginary enemy as Krum before was really a bit hasty.

Vincent turned to look at Harry, who shivered suddenly as if sensing something.

The Triwizard Tournament tasks would only become more and more dangerous; raising the training intensity to the dragon level was far from enough.
