Hogwarts White Knight

Chapter 12 Fluorescence flashed

Unknowingly, the night has fallen.

"Here's to Gawain becoming a wizard!"

At the dining table, Colin held up a large cup made of wooden strips and shouted excitedly. The cup is filled with amber-colored wine, exuding a sweet aroma with the smell of honey.

The top button of Colin's shirt has been torn open, his blue tie is tilted to one side, and a light red color has appeared on his face.

"That guy named Nash really didn't lie to me. He is indeed a magic cup."

Colin raised his neck, took a big sip, showed a satisfied smile, and gestured with his thumb.

That big cup was found in a second-hand store called a junk shop during the day. It is said that it was used by Viking warriors at banquets in the past. It was enchanted by fairies to make the aroma of mead more intense. sweet.

But Gawain had seen the bottom of the cup before.

"Charlie's handicraft workshop, 328 Portobello Road."

If he remembered correctly, there was a famous antique open-air market on Portobello Road.

In other words, this cup is nothing short of...

"Forget it, it's just a few silver coins anyway. But to be honest, the person who invented this currency conversion ratio must be a weird French fool with a long nose."

Gawain thought with a smile, and added a small piece of fried salmon to the "abyss" on the side.

He has never seen such a crazy design.

The French don't even dare to play like this!

One gold Galleon is equal to 17 silver Sickles and 493 copper Nats.

This has not yet calculated the exchange rate between pounds and Sickles and Nats. Gawain's reason told him that the decimal points would be so long that even Colin would have a headache.

"So who can tell me how many nats are 47 gold galleons, 9 silver sikols, and 17 copper nats in total?"

While lifting up the pumpkin juice and taking a big sip, Gawain easily tried to convert it.

After saying goodbye to Hermione and buying "The Abyss", he rushed directly to the Leaky Cauldron to meet Colin and Elsa.

There, he also met a somewhat "shy" wizard who was said to have just returned from Albania. Even if he knew the spelling, it would take him a long time to find a place on the map, and he was his Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

However, the man was shivering all the time and insisted on wearing a white turban on such a hot day. His whole body exuded a strong smell of garlic.

I don’t know if I want to cover up the tragic reality of baldness, or if I want to marinate myself before winter comes.

Gawain greeted him and found out that the wizard who stammered was called Quirrell.

Although Professor Quirrell looked a little weird, he was quite a nice person and told him many interesting things about Hogwarts. The two didn't chat for long before Professor Quirrell was patted on the back of the head by an acquaintance and pulled aside.

"But the feel sounds really crisp."

Subconsciously, he bent his middle finger and wanted to try tapping it on Professor Quirrell's smooth skull.

"Gawain, there is still half a month before school starts. Do you have any plans?"

Elsa put down her knife and fork, wiped her mouth with a square towel to show that she was full, and turned to Gawain. Perhaps because she was happy, she drank two more drinks with Colin after a long absence, and her cheeks became slightly red.

"Uh... Just read a book and try some magic?"

Gawain thought for a while and answered hesitantly.

"If there's anything you need, let us know, but make sure it doesn't happen again."

She said so firmly that even Colin put down his cup and looked at Gawain.

"Well, I wouldn't do it again."

Gawain nodded, looked at Elsa and Colin and said.

"That's it. Remember to clean up after eating."

Elsa stood up and poked Colin. Before he could ask a stupid question like "Why am I taking care of it?" as he drank happily, she pointed at Gawain and said, "Because it was Gawain who cooked the dinner."

Seeing Colin picking up the cup with some hesitation, she approached him seemingly disgusted. First, she gestured with her palms to fan herself, and then kissed him gently on the cheek. Then she picked up the small bag with light steps and went upstairs humming a song in a low voice.

"Every breath you take, it seems Elsa is in a really good mood."

Gawain scratched his face and thought, ate the last bit of potatoes left on the plate, left the dining table to Colin who took out the tobacco from his arms, got up and went back to his room.

- His wand couldn't wait any longer.

"A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot... It's still some time before bed, why should I torture myself?"

"A Thousand Miracle Herbs and Grasses...it doesn't contain onions."

""Standard Spell: Elementary", I have it."

Gawain took out the neatly stacked textbooks from his dragon skin pocket and rummaged through them one by one until he saw the "Standard Spells" with copper-framed characters. He took it out with satisfaction and placed it on the desk.

After thinking about it, he took out two more books from the drawer of the bedside table.

They are "scholarships" provided by Dumbledore, and are not generally circulated versions, but come with some annotations made by himself.

"A History of Modern Magic, and..."The Tales of Pedo the Poet"?"

Gawain scratched his head, threw the two books aside, and opened "Standard Spells: Elementary" first.

Just like most middle school textbooks, on the title page, the editor added some polite words, thanked the publisher and the Ministry of Magic as the sponsor, and then explained each individual spell according to chapters.

Considering that the reader is a first-year wizard, the book does not record any complicated spells. Even if it is an optional reading to understand the content, it is only the repair spell invented by Eurabella Nutley in 1754.

According to the annotation, she is a staff member of the Office for the Prohibition of Abuse of Magic of the Ministry of Magic. She once used this spell to repair the Roman Colosseum that was destroyed by a fire dragon in just half a day.

"Let's try a simple one first... the Lighting Spell, this should work."

Gawain first browsed through the entire book to make sure there was no disclaimer such as "first use must be done under the guidance of a wizard", then he turned to the first chapter and carefully read the instructions about magic spells.

"Hold the wand, clear your head, shake it 30 degrees to the upper right, and shout the spell at the same time..."

"(Fluorescence)."

Standing in front of the desk, Gawain held the wand in his right hand and made two gestures according to the diagram before calling out the spell.

At that moment, he felt as if his perception was no longer limited to the physical body, but transcended it, forming a weak but clear connection with a wider space.

The light comes on.

At the tip of his black wand, a ball of silver light hung in the air.

Needless to say.

This is the spell he just released.

"Meow!"

A black shadow jumped up high and hit Gawain's chest, who was staring blankly at the silver light.
