Became good friends with the Boy Who Lived

Chapter 4 Jim's Treasure

Aes enjoyed the most sumptuous dinner in his two lifetimes in decades, and the family of three was very happy during the meal.

Accompanied by melodious, classical music, the after-meal dessert was a three-layered cream cheese cake with a maximum diameter of ten inches. Selena cut off a large piece and placed it in front of Aris.

"Happy birthday, dear! Do you want to make a wish?" Selena's eyes were full of smiles.

After drinking another glass of dessert wine, Jim burped loudly. Selena glared at her husband and said, "It's not gentlemanly at all to do this in front of the children!"

Jim smiled indifferently and said, "I'm happy today. Besides, we are a family. Aris, do you want to come with me to see my treasure?"

"Come on, dear!" Selina pouted, "You only value your junk so much!"

"They are not junk!" Jim protested, "They are all precious historical relics. Just think about it, hundreds and thousands of years of history, what a romantic thing it is!"

"But can anyone prove their authenticity..." Selina said.

"I want to see it!" Aesius said, "Take me there, father!"

Jim raised his eyebrows proudly at his wife. Selina sighed, an old child and now a little child. Life will be lively in the future.

Jim led Aris's little hand up to the second floor. Jim pushed open a door and said, "This is your room from now on. Opposite is my room and your mother's room. We have to knock on the door before entering our respective rooms, okay?"

"Okay!" Aris nodded and took a few steps. Jim pushed open another door and Aris saw a large bookshelf inside, which was full of books.

Jim said, "This is the study. When you are able to read, you can read any of the books in it. But remember, knowledge is a valuable asset, and books as carriers of knowledge are equally valuable. Promise me to treat them gently, okay?"

"Okay!" Aries agreed, and Jim led Aries to the door at the end of the corridor.

"The next step is the exciting moment!" Jim looked at the door with sparkling eyes. "This is my treasure house. Promise me, Aris, every item in here is my favorite. Just leave them in the display case and don't touch them, okay?"

"Okay!" Aris replied, but Jim squatted down, stared into Aris' eyes, and said seriously: "This is an agreement between men, you can't break it!"

"I will never breach the contract!" Aeris answered seriously.

Jim stood up, gently turned the doorknob, and slowly pushed the door open. Aries also became a little nervous.

"Don't be nervous!" Jim said, "You can enter and exit this room as you like. Just open the door slowly, but don't let anyone outside this house know the existence of this room. This is a secret between us!" Jim winked at Aries.

Aeris nodded hastily.

The room opened and it was pitch black inside. Jim led Aries into the room, turned on the light and closed the door.

Aeris looked around curiously. There were tall hardwood display cabinets standing on the four walls of the room. Each display cabinet was more than ten stories high. Those small square grids were filled with objects of various shapes, shining brightly under the light.
