Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 11: First Day of School, in the Hospital Wing

"Are you really Harry Potter?" Ron couldn't help asking.

Harry nodded.

"Oh, well, I thought they were joking with me," said Ron. "You took it seriously, you know..." He pointed at Harry's forehead.

Ron's eyes widened as Harry pushed his hair away from his forehead, revealing a lightning-shaped scar.

"This is what the man left behind..."

"Yes, but I don't remember anything."

"Don't remember anything?" Ron asked eagerly.

"Harry, Ron, I'm still a little sleepy. I need to go to sleep for a while. You guys chat."

Hefeth felt a little overwhelmed.

"Okay, Hephis, go to sleep and we will try to keep the noise down." Harry responded hastily.

"Thank you." Hephes said softly, then fell headfirst and fell into a deep sleep.

Harry and Ron were left whispering to each other.

It was noon.

"Harry, do you think we should wake him up and get something to eat?"

"Hmm... He looks really tired, maybe we should let him sleep a little longer. Leave him a pumpkin pie for when he wakes up."

"Yeah, I think it works."

Sword Master Neville came, but didn't find the toad, so he left.

After a while, the carriage door was opened again.

"Have you seen a toad? Neville's, he lost one." Hermione came with her furry head.

"He was here but we didn't see him," said Ron.

"Oh. Are you casting magic?" Hermione saw Ron walk in with his wand raised.

Before Ron could perform, Hermione saw Hephis lying on the seat opposite.

"Hephis?" Hermione hurried to Hephis' side, looking at Hephis's completely different appearance, she could not believe her eyes.

"His name is indeed Hephis. Are you friends?" said Harry.

"Yes, what's wrong with him?" Hermione asked in a low voice instead of waking up Hephis rashly.

"He said he was sleepy, so he was sleeping," Harry explained.

"It seems that he is really tired." Hermione frowned and looked at Hephis worriedly.

"He has been sleeping for a long time, and we plan to wake him up before getting off the bus," Harry continued to explain.

"Well, let him sleep a little longer. I'm going to go find a toad for Neville and I'll be back soon."

After saying that, Hermione gently stroked Hephis's cheek and walked out quickly.

"She said she was coming back?" Ron looked at Harry in confusion.

"Maybe he's worried about Hephis. After all, they are friends." Harry guessed.

Just as they began to talk about Quidditch, the carriage door was pushed open again, but it was not Hermione.

Malfoy also came with his two followers, looking very proud, but was defeated by a rat and ran away in disgrace.

Hermione soon returned, this time pulling a heavy suitcase.

Harry and Ron rushed forward to help.

After introducing each other, Hermione did not pay much attention to Harry, the "boy who survived", but looked at Hephis opposite her with a worried look.

Harry and Ron were left alone to continue muttering.

The train gradually slowed down and a warning sounded in the carriage.

"Hephis, Hephis, wake up, the train is coming."

Hermione finally came to her senses, walked over to Hephis, and began to gently shake his body.

"Hephis, what's wrong with you? Wake up." Hermione's voice was full of panic, and she gradually increased the strength in her hands.

Harry and Ron heard Hermione's voice and hurried forward.

However, no matter how they shook or called, Hephes did not wake up.

Hermione was completely panicked and even had tears in her eyes.

"What should I do? I can't wake Hephis up?" Hermione's voice was tinged with tears.

Ron's brain seemed to suddenly connect.

"There is a way! I will go find my brother Percy. He is the prefect. He must have a way!"

After saying that, he ran out of the car quickly, shouting loudly.

"Percy! Percy Weasley!"

Hephis woke up from his drowsiness and found himself lying on a comfortable single bed surrounded by white curtains.

There was a wall lamp on not far away, and the light passed through the thin curtains, emitting a soft yellow light.

He blinked slightly, trying to make himself more awake.

As soon as I sat up, the bed frame made a creaking sound.

After a sound of footsteps, the curtain on one side was gently pulled open.

A lady in a white robe appeared in Hephes' sight.

She simply held Hefeth down and made him lie down again.

"Hephes Dam fell into a coma due to excessive fatigue and severe lack of sleep." The woman's voice was gentle but with a hint of severity.

"This is the Hospital Wing of Hogwarts. You can call me Madam Pomfrey."

She gently arranged the quilt for Hephis and wrapped him tightly.

"Hello, Madam Pomfrey!" Hephis said politely.

"I really don't know what you have done to exhaust yourself and fall into a coma? You are only 11 years old. What you need most is enough sleep. Don't you know that?" Madam Pomfrey said in a stern tone, full of reproach.

"Look at your pale face and dark circles under your eyes. You look so thin. If your physical examination was not normal, I would suspect that you haven't eaten for a month. I'll give you some potion in a while. After drinking it, have a good sleep."

Hephis nodded quickly at her.

Madam Pomfrey now is like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

He didn't want to offend him again, and before he could relax, there was a rapid knock on the door.

Madam Pomfrey strode quickly over and opened the door.

"Oh, Severus, you're finally here. The school has just started and many potions are out of stock in the hospital wing. I can't even find a bottle of tonic." Madam Pomfrey complained.

Snape's deep voice rang out, with his usual mockery, spewing venom wantonly.

"Poppy, after all, who would have thought that on the first day of school, a stupid freshman would land himself in the medical wing."

Snape stood directly beside Hephes' bed, looking down at him from top to bottom. When he saw Hephes' green eyes, a hint of surprise flashed across his face.

"Mr. Hephes Dam, perhaps you think this can attract attention? You did it. Now can you explain how you became like this in just one month?" Snape looked at Hephes with disgust.

"Your poor Professor McGonagall just told me that you were in perfect health when she saw you last. If it weren't for the new students, she would be here now. I hope you can give a reasonable explanation."

Hephis slowly sat up in bed again.

"Professor, I'm sorry. I've been studying textbooks at home, especially Potions, and have already prepared for the fifth year. I was so engrossed that I forgot about time and ended up not getting enough sleep."

"Oh? So, Mr. Dam is a Potions genius? He has even reviewed the fifth-grade Potions textbook. That's something to brag about. Should I be glad that your head isn't taken over by a troll, and that you didn't try to make potions without any professor's guidance and then blow yourself up?"

Snape's tone was full of disdain and sarcasm.
