Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 38 Bathroom
The next day at breakfast, Salina discovered that the atmosphere between Harry and the others suddenly became strange.
After asking Hermione, I finally figured out what happened last night.
Their destination last night was the girls' bathroom on the third floor, where the ghost "Moaning Myrtle" always stayed, and not far away was the corridor where Mrs. Norris was murdered.
Although they acted cautiously, they still accidentally ran into Penelope Clearwater, the Ravenclaw prefect who was on night patrol. Although Penelope seemed to let them go without saying anything, Ron felt that she might have misunderstood their intentions.
Just as they were hesitating whether to give up the night patrol, they ran into Percy who was also on patrol.
Percy was surprised and puzzled by their behavior outside the girls' bathroom. Faced with Percy's questioning, Ron was embarrassed at first, then became angry, and defended himself, claiming that they were just looking for clues and did nothing wrong.
Then a fierce argument broke out between Ron and Percy, and Ron left alone in anger. Hermione and Harry, worried about Ron, hurriedly followed him away.
"So you didn't find any clues last night?" asked Salina.
Hermione nodded, also a little embarrassed. "Well, we haven't even had time to get in yet, and we don't know if Myrtle has any clues."
Salina thought about it and suggested: "Why don't we go and take a look together now?"
Hermione hesitated, "But Ron still seems angry, he might not come."
"It's okay, we'll just tell them once we get the clue. Although not many people use it, it's the girls' bathroom after all, and it's not very convenient for boys to go there." Salina said.
Hermione thought about it and it made sense, so she nodded and agreed.
……
The dim bathroom was like a forgotten corner, as if even the magic had lost its effect, leaving only silence and dampness.
The stones of the washbasin were slippery, the mirror was covered with mist, and the ticking sound of the rusty faucet could be heard from time to time.
Salina stood on the cold stone floor, her eyes fixed on the ancient faucet facing the cubicle.
Its dragon head is finely crafted and its side is decorated with a relief of a bronze snake.
"That faucet is broken and there is never any water." Myrtle appeared silently behind Salina and said faintly.
Startled, Hermione hugged Serena's arms tightly, "Myrtle!"
Salina didn't turn around. She looked around carefully, looking for signs that the secret room was open.
That particular faucet did show signs of having been twisted, but I don’t know who has the diary now.
Hermione tried to get clues from Myrtle, but Myrtle was vague and just said she knew nothing.
Having gained nothing, Hermione turned her attention back to the library. She believed that she would find something in the books.
library.
Hermione buried herself in the piles of books. Various magic books and parchment were scattered on her desk. The tip of her pen made a rustling sound as it moved across the paper, like dense raindrops hitting the calm lake, causing ripples.
Her face was focused and determined as she carefully studied every past event of Hogwarts, page by page, trying to extract information related to the Chamber of Secrets. The Chronicle of Hogwarts had been wrinkled by her, and the bookmarks on the edges indicated the chapters she thought might be related to the Chamber of Secrets.
On the other side, Salina was also reading a book, and her strength was steadily improving.
……
As time passed and the date of the first Quidditch match drew closer, Harry's training frequency intensified.
The playground after dinner is no longer the gathering place full of laughter. Instead, it is filled with a tense and serious training atmosphere.
As the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Wood never misses any opportunity to improve the team.
He would stand at the edge of the court, his eyes as sharp as a hawk, watching Harry's figure flying through the air, and kept shouting instructions.
Harry seemed to have turned into a flash of lightning, shuttling back and forth on the court, sometimes diving suddenly, sometimes leaping high.
"Hurry up, Harry! Faster!" Wood's voice was transmitted in the whistling wind.
Hidden in his thick coat was a yellowed tactics booklet, which was the secret manual passed down by the Gryffindor team for generations. Wood had made detailed plans for every possible situation in every game.
Harry's broom was like an extension of his body, flying along the preset trajectory according to his wishes.
He has an innate love and talent for this ancient magical sport and can easily sense the slight tremor of the golden snitch hidden in the air.
Standing at the edge of the playground was not only Wood, but also a group of loyal Gryffindor fans.
They wore red scarves and hats representing the house, held flags with encouraging words in their hands, and cheered every few minutes to cheer for Harry and the other members of the team.
Ginny and Ron were always among this group of people. Despite the hard training, Harry could always find his friends in the air, which brought him great comfort and motivation.
After the training, Harry returned to the locker room covered in sweat, his eyes full of anticipation and excitement for the game, but also a hint of fatigue.
All of this was for that exciting Quidditch match, for glory, for Gryffindor, and to live up to one's own dream.
Next to the training ground, Malfoy stood in front of the latest model of Nimbus 001 with a sneer, his fingers gently stroking the shining silver-white frame, as if stroking the fuel tank of an elegant racing car.
"Have you seen those Stone Age brooms of Gryffindor?" Malfoy said sarcastically, a glint of pride in his eyes. "They are still stuck in their past glory, while we, Slytherins, will light up the entire stadium with this Nimbus 001."
The light flowed on the ribs of each Light Wheel 001, like balls of silver-white flames, illuminating every corner of the training.
The Slytherin team members were all in high spirits. They drew smooth arcs in the air, and the speed and flexibility of the Nimbus 001 made them even more powerful.
Wood stood aside, his face looking heavy.
He did not have the wealth and resources like Malfoy, so he could not equip every member of the Gryffindor team with the latest brooms. He could only require the team members to continuously strengthen their training.
During breakfast time, the two teams exchanged glances at each other.
Every team member knows that this competition is not just a competition of speed, but also a competition for honor and a contest of courage between colleges.
