Chapter 43 The Beauty Around Us
Wizard Gerlin walked out of the canyon, carrying a heavy package on his shoulders, and his heart was full of anticipation for the upcoming refining. Today, he finally got the materials needed to refine the Fallen Star Pendant from Wolf. However, the spiritual energy in the canyon still lingered around him, causing him to slow down his pace involuntarily.
"What a magical place." Gerlin whispered to himself, his eyes following some flying elves. Those little creatures danced happily in the sun, as if welcoming his return.
Holding a sparkling crystal, Gerlin suddenly remembered Wolff's words and murmured softly: "Just be careful not to use it in the wrong place, otherwise you will pay a heavy price."
At this moment, a familiar voice came from behind: "I was wondering why you haven't gone back yet, are you mesmerized by the beautiful scenery in the canyon?"
Gerlin turned around and saw the female sorceress Anima walking briskly towards him. Her long hair shone softly in the sun and she was smiling. "I thought you would be attracted by the secrets of those materials and stay away for a long time."
"I haven't forgotten the experiment we are about to conduct." Gerlin coughed, trying to hide his joy, "However, even in the busy refining process, we can't ignore the beauty around us."
"You're such a romantic," Anima teased, her eyes lingering on the crystal in his hand for a moment, "How much?"
"Langlf asked for a price that was painfully high, but for the Fallen Star Pendant, I had to buy it." Gerlin sighed and patted the package. "But, you know, his materials are not just expensive, there are many secrets hidden behind them."
Anima frowned slightly: "Secret? Aren't you afraid of taking too much risk?"
"I've always been on an adventure." Garlin responded with a smile, "As a wizard, this life is destined to be accompanied by danger. But what's the meaning of life without challenges?"
"Hearing you say that, I seem to feel a sense of mission." A hint of determination flashed in Anima's eyes, "Then, let's take on this mission together."
"I think the greatest charm of the Fallen Star is its control over the power of the stars." Gerlin emphasized, with a bit of enthusiasm in his voice, "That kind of power comes from the depths of the universe, which is enough to make me stand out in the wizarding world!"
Anima listened and shook her head slightly: "But no matter how great its charm is, we must be cautious. Once we lose control, even the Fallen Star will backfire on us."
"You worry too much, Anima." Gerlin smiled, "You have to believe in your own abilities and our cooperation."
In another argument, the two of them unknowingly walked to the door of the magic tower. Light and shadow intertwined on the mottled stone bricks, and the tower door was slightly open, as if beckoning their arrival.
As you step into the magic tower, the rich scent of herbs and mystery hits you in the face, as if those invisible laws are interweaving and colliding with each other in the air.
"What a wonderful place." Anima sighed, looking around at the familiar environment, "Every time I come back here, I feel relaxed."
"This place is full of our memories." Gerling nodded and walked to the workbench. He put down the package and began to carefully examine the materials that Wolff gave him.
"Let's take a look at this crystal." Gerlin held the crystal in his palm and whispered, "Just as Wolf said, it contains some extremely powerful energy. Combined with the comprehensive use of other materials, whether we can refine the Fallen Star Pendant depends on us!"
Anima pulled over a heavy book, opened a page, and read it carefully. "It says here that the refining of the Fallen Star Pendant requires a lot of preparation. Are we still missing some important materials?"
"I checked, and all the herbs and ores we need are here." Gerlin said as he listed the materials one by one. "But you are right. We must make all preparations before refining, and we cannot make any mistakes at any step."
"You have to be careful." Anima looked at him with concern. "Sometimes, the best plans are always disrupted by unexpected events."
"I'll pay attention." Gerlin smiled slightly, his fingers gently running over a piece of glittering medicinal herbs, his determination in his heart becoming clearer, "Let's get started. The risk of losing everything is better than watching the future without doing anything."
So, the two of them got busy, mixing herbs, adjusting the heat, and concocting their own magic. A strange aroma filled the air, colorful lights intertwined on the magic stage, and large and small magic runes flowed around them, echoing the expectation and tension in their hearts.
However, just as they were immersed in their work, the sky outside was suddenly broken by a low thunder. Anima stopped what she was doing and looked out the window.
"It looks like it's going to rain." She frowned. "If you don't pay attention to the thunder at this time, it may cause the spell to go out of control."
"Our experiment should not be affected by this." Gerling said calmly, "Concentrate your attention and don't be distracted."
But in the next moment, lightning flashed across the sky outside the window, accompanied by a deafening roar, and the entire magic tower seemed to tremble slightly. The magic power in the air suddenly became unstable, as if warning them.
"Quick! Strengthen the shield!" Anima shouted loudly, and the power in her hands suddenly gathered, and a transparent energy shield instantly appeared around them.
However, the unpredictable force did not seem to stop there. The vibration became more and more intense, and the shield seemed a little fragile under the impact of this force. Gerlin's heart tightened. While concentrating his strength, he turned his head and said to Anima: "Stay calm, we can't let this force control us."
"I will!" Anima responded loudly, while silently casting her spell in her heart.
As the thunder continued to roar and the light flashed, the atmosphere in the tower became more tense. Gerlin and Anima looked at each other. Although they were facing the sudden danger, they understood that only by working together could they resolve this test.
