However, this peace did not last, as something happened to Star-Lord.

The Guardians were having breakfast together, and Gamora noticed that Quill seemed distracted. He kept rubbing his eyes and sometimes rubbing his chest, with an uncomfortable expression on his face.

"Peter," Gamora whispered, "are you okay?"

Gamora's question caused the other Guardians to look towards their frowning leader.

"I don't know." Star-Lord narrowed his eyes and said, "This is very strange. I can't explain it."

"I know thinking isn't your strong point, but you know what happened?" the raccoon asked in his usual sarcastic manner.

However, before he could say anything, Kraglin said in a rather panicked tone: "Captain, your eyes!"

The Guardians looked into Star-Lord's eyes and gasped in shock.

"Peter," Gamora said worriedly, "Your eyes! They've changed!"

Star-Lord sensed it, too, and this had only happened once before.

As his father traveled through the universe, he planted his seeds on every world he visited. Although most of them have been killed, some have survived and are now devouring the planets they depend on for survival.

Star-Lord believes these remaining seeds must be eradicated and destroyed to ensure that his mad father's legacy does not remain.

So over the past year, thanks to Kraglin, he knew where most of these seeds were planted, traveling from system to system, from planet to planet, though most of the time they ended up returning empty-handed, and whatever they found was quickly destroyed.

However, later on, they slowly discovered that after each existing Ego seed was destroyed, the next seed would become stronger and more difficult to kill.

This proved to be annoying, but in Star-Lord's mind, it was somewhat disturbing, as he wondered if the seeds were reacting to their Guardians' hunt and preparing for it, making this increasingly difficult?

"What is going on? Didn't we kill Ego? How did Quill become like this?" the raccoon said loudly.

Gamora yelled at the raccoon to shut up, crossing her arms in frustration and saying, "Whatever Ego is, it's powerful."

"Quil." Drax began, "You are the descendant of Ego. You have the power of a demigod, and judging from your current condition, this means that perhaps you can still use the power of a god."

The other Guardians disagreed with this rather far-fetched idea, but Star-Lord wanted to give it a try nonetheless. He closed his eyes and recalled the first time he felt the power of the gods. Star-Lord found nothing at first. He did not get discouraged and concentrated.

After a moment, Star-Lord said excitedly, "I-I think so!"

Star-Lord laughed ecstatically, he felt himself back on Ego's old planet, the familiar power of the gods flowing through his body, but it was much weaker than before.

But that's what he needed to do. Star-Lord stood there for a long moment, absorbing the power and thinking about how he could use it.

Recalling Yondu's words, he talked about how he controlled his whistle arrows with his heart instead of his head.

So what should he do?

Star-Lord stood there, the others were watching him, the energy still swirling in his hands, Star-Lord felt a little confused, not knowing how to start. But this was enough to prove that he could use his god power, even though Ego's body and brain were destroyed, Star-Lord still had a demigod body, and therefore also had the power of a god, but because of his demigod body, his god power was much weaker, but this was exciting enough, which meant that Star-Lord could use the god power, although he knew very well that he needed a lot of practice.

"Quil, do you want to do something? Don't just stand there like an idiot." The raccoon asked grumpily.

"Wait a minute, Raccoon, I've only used the power of God four times," said Star-Lord.

"Well, what did you do last time?" Gamora asked.

"I...I turned into a giant version of Pac-Man," said Star-Lord.

Gamora was speechless. She turned around and asked, "Mantis, you know Ego very well. Has he ever shown or talked to you about his divine power? How does he control his divine power?"

Mantis shook his head and said, "Ego always talks about focus and compression. But he's a god, his power is natural, and he can use it without thinking."

Focus and compression?

Then, Star-Lord's eyes lit up, and he concentrated, reaching out his hand and connecting himself to the small sphere in front of him. At first nothing happened, but then, the sphere began to glow.

Star-Lord focused his attention and carefully manipulated his hands, bringing the glowing spheres in his hands closer to each other. Slowly, he closed his hands, clenched his teeth, and felt a slight resistance. The energy emanating from his hands began to gather together, and soon, Star-Lord's divine power formed a sphere until he clapped his hands.

In an instant, his divine power and the ball of light disappeared.

Star-Lord immediately fell to the ground, gasping for breath.

"Peter," Gamora said, beside him, placing her hands on his back to stop him from falling, "Are you okay?"

"Oh, yes, it's okay."

The Guardians looked over to where the orb had been and saw a slight depression in the ground, indicating that it had been there.

From then on, as Star-Lord's control grew stronger, it became easier for him to manipulate the power of the gods.

Although Kraglin recorded the coordinates of many Ego seeds, most of them disappeared after Ego's death. The rest are scattered all over the universe, and it is quite difficult to find them.

So, over the course of a year, the Guardians of the Galaxy traveled from planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy, searching for Ego's children scattered throughout the universe.
