Richard and Todd walked out of the holding cell and had some argument about Calderon.

Todd: "You want to ask headquarters to send a portraitist? Do you really believe the nonsense he said?"

Richard: "I don't think he lied. Otherwise, why would he make up a non-existent woman?"

Todd: "It's perfectly normal to divert attention and confuse things."

Richard: "But why did Michael die in the corridor? He must have been shot when he opened the door. The people in the house ambushed him. This was obviously prepared."

Todd: "That's just your guess. Maybe Michael came back during Calderon's robbery."

Richard: "Then Calderon's reaction is too fast. His shooting skills are also very good. He can hit the head with one shot without any preparation."

Todd: "Maybe it was just a mistake. You thought too much. Now a ready-made suspect is here. Instead of investigating him, you have to investigate a non-existent woman."

Richard: "Maybe, maybe, you said too many possibilities, there are not so many possibilities."

Todd: "Rookie, are you questioning me?"

Richard: "Yes, I am"

"That's enough. This is a police station, not a bar." Detective Bureau Chief Orville Ashworth interrupted the quarrel between the two.

Seeing that the two of them closed their mouths, Orville then said to Todd: "Go and call the headquarters and ask for a portrait artist."

"But"

"Nothing but, listen, Todd. If Richard is wrong, let him know how he was wrong. It won't take you long."

Todd glared at Richard before turning and walking to his desk to pick up the phone.

"Thank you," Richard said to Orville.

"Richard, Todd has been working in the Detective Bureau for more than 10 years. He has rich experience and is a good police officer. I hope you can maintain due respect for him."

"You think I'm wrong"

"You may be right, and Todd may be right. Everything is possible until the murderer is caught. This is a highly subjective job. No one can guarantee that he will always be right, so be more understanding. Go handle the case." Orville turned and entered the office.

After a while, the portraitist came. With the help of a portrait artist, Richard and Todd obtained a portrait of a new suspect, a middle-aged woman with brown hair, a wide jaw, and big eyes. Calderon described the man as being about 1 meters tall and thin. He was wearing a blue and white sportswear that night.

After the two of them published the portrait, it was time to get off work.

Richard returned home and thought about everything about the case, and he believed that he was right. Only Calderon's account could explain why the door was locked but the body was left outside. Since Calderon was not the murderer, he certainly did not want to cover up the murder. He just wanted to delay the police from discovering his theft.

The next day, when Richard came to the police station, Todd hurriedly found him.

"Rick, come with me."

Richard followed Todd to the holding room inexplicably.

Todd pulled out a stack of photos and spread them out on the table for Calderon to read.

Calderon quickly selected one of the photos. The person in the photo looked very similar to the suspect's portrait.

"Are you sure?" Todd asked.

"Yes, it's her, I'm sure, I will never admit her mistake."

"Take a closer look."

"That's her, that's right."

Todd put away the photos and walked out of the holding room, followed by Richard.

"You found the suspect so quickly."

"Yes, I found the suspect. Let's go and see the suspect together."

Looking at Todd's expression, Richard always felt something strange.

Why are you proud?

The two drove to a hospital. Todd led Richard to a ward and looked at the unconscious patient on the bed. Richard knew why Todd had that expression.
